2020
Throughout this first half of the year (and in spite of the world health crisis), I have been luckily busy setting up remote sound lectures and practice material for students. Also, there are upcoming projects:
- Short drama: this film is planned to be mixed in Mexico, as soon as we are allowed to get back to the studio for some final Foley recording. This drama has its core at the very important topic of teenage pregnancy, showing the emotive and human side of this everyday issue. The role of sound relies in the importance of communicating how this girl will change forever, not in a tragic way but in a very sensitive and nostalgic manner, as either decision she makes will entail the loss of her childhood.
- Short documentary: this upcoming work is an intimate portrait of the relationship of the director and his mother, who faced very complicated relationships as a woman and as a mother. She sings mantras as her days continue, and from that emotive sound, my work in sound restoration, editing and design aims to show this woman's strength, and the bond created between characters as the story unfolds.

January 2019

Universidad de las Artes (the only arts uni in Ecuador) called me up to evaluate some of their professors. I was in charge of analysing their work in order to have them appointed full-time faculty. It was quite an honour to be able to assess this people's decades-long carreers!

Also, another higher education institution INSTITUTO PARADOX asked me to evaluate their curriculum before applying for an official government approval.
